Terms of service

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Closer at relation.eroocs.com, including the intimacy quiz, twelve-archetype archive, How it works pages, result write-ups, and pairing links (the “Service”).

By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy policy. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.

2. What Closer is

Closer is a browser quiz about how you get close, not a personality franchise and not a clinic. In practice you can:

  • Answer twenty-seven situational items (three per dimension, sampled from a fifty-four-item bank so a retake is not the same paper).
  • See nine dimension scores, an Intimacy Tension Coordinate signature (control / distance / novelty), and one of twelve archetypes.
  • Read public type pages and pairing models on How it works.
  • Copy a pairing link that already carries your result so another person can answer twelve questions on their phone and send the updated link back.

The Service is English-language editorial content plus a client-side scorer. There is no login, no member area, and no checkout.

3. Entertainment only — not a diagnosis

All scores, archetypes, pairing names, and copy are for entertainment and self-observation. They:

  • Are not a clinical, medical, psychological, or psychiatric diagnosis.
  • Are not counseling, couples therapy, or professional advice of any kind.
  • Do not grade anyone as healthy, toxic, compatible, or doomed.
  • Carry no promise of accuracy for real-world relationships.

You are solely responsible for how you talk about a result with another person and for any decision you make after using the site.

4. Who may use the Service

You must be at least 18 years old. The questions concern adult intimacy preferences (including dominance, exposure, sensory charge, and attachment). Do not use the Service if you are under 18.

5. No accounts and no payments

Closer does not sell subscriptions, virtual currency, unlocks, or promotional codes. There is nothing to refund because there is nothing to purchase on this site. Results are not a paid product.

6. Acceptable use

Use the Service only in a lawful way. You agree not to:

  • Scrape, overload, reverse-engineer, or attack the site or its scoring code.
  • Misrepresent a result as a professional assessment, or use it to harass, coerce, or publicly shame someone.
  • Post pairing URLs that contain another person’s result without their consent.
  • Impersonate the operators of relation.eroocs.com.

We may suspend access (including by blocking traffic) if these Terms are abused.

7. Pairing links

A pairing link is a convenience, not a private vault. Encoded scores travel in the URL. You choose who receives it. We are not responsible for what happens after you copy or forward a link, or for results that disappear when someone clears their browser.

8. Intellectual property

The Closer name, question bank, dimension names, archetype write-ups, pairing models, layout, and code are owned by the operators of relation.eroocs.com or their licensors. You may share your own result link for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy the question bank, reskin the atlas as your own product, or republish substantial text without written permission.

9. Privacy

Use of the Service is also governed by the Privacy policy. In short: quiz data is stored in your browser; pairing tokens live in URLs you share; no account is created.

10. Advertising

The Service may display Google AdSense and similar ads when those units are enabled. Partners may use cookies or similar technologies. Manage Google ad personalization at adssettings.google.com. Ads are labeled as ads; nothing on this site asks you to click them.

11. Changes and availability

We may change questions, copy, scoring, archetypes, or take the Service down, with or without notice. The quiz is provided as a living editorial project, not a guaranteed lifelong archive of your score.

We may update these Terms. The date at the top of this page will change. Continued use after an update is acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent allowed by law. We do not warrant that scoring will be error-free or that the site will always load.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, relation.eroocs.com and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, emotional distress, or relationship outcomes, arising from:

  • Use of, or inability to use, the Service.
  • Reliance on a type, score, or pairing model.
  • A pairing link that is forwarded, leaked, or lost.
  • Ads, pixels, or third-party sites you reach from this Service.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China. Disputes arising from these Terms or the Service are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.
