Privacy policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to relation.eroocs.com, the public site for Closer, an intimacy preference atlas. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you visit https://relation.eroocs.com or use the test, type archive, pairing tools, and related pages.

By using Closer, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.

What this site is: Closer is an entertainment and self-observation quiz. It scores twenty-seven situational questions (drawn from a fifty-four-item bank) into nine intimacy dimensions, twelve relationship archetypes, and three Intimacy Tension Coordinates (control, distance, novelty). It is not a clinical instrument, not a diagnosis, and not professional advice.

2. Information we collect

Closer does not require an account, login, or payment. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or billing details on the site. Information falls into these groups:

  • Quiz answers and results (on your device): When you finish the 27-question test, your archetype slug, nine dimension scores, ITC bands, and a timestamp are saved in this browser under the key closer.result. Answers are scored in the browser; we do not operate a user database for those answers.
  • Theme preference: Blush or Dark is stored as closer.theme so the next visit can keep the same look.
  • Pairing records on this device: If you create a pairing invite, a short pairing id and the two sides of the result (when both exist) are stored under closer.couples in this browser only.
  • Pairing links you share: A pairing URL includes encoded result tokens in the query string (a and optionally b): archetype, scores, ITC bands, and timestamp. Anyone who opens that full link can reconstruct the result in their browser. We do not host a private pairing account for you.
  • Clipboard (optional): Copying a pairing or result link uses your device clipboard. We do not upload clipboard contents to our servers.
  • Technical data: Hosting and security logs may include IP address, browser type, device, operating system, pages requested, and referring URL.
  • Measurement and advertising data: The site is wired for first-party event tracking and, when those services are enabled, Google Tag Manager, Google tags, Google AdSense, and campaign pixels (including Meta or TikTok pixels that may load from campaign parameters). Those parties may collect device and usage data under their own policies.

Public pages such as Types, How it works, and preview archetype write-ups are catalog content. Opening them does not send us a private quiz profile.

3. What we do not collect on the site

  • No user accounts, passwords, or social logins.
  • No in-app purchases, virtual goods, promo codes, or payment cards.
  • No clinical history, government IDs, or contact list access.

If you email us, we will receive whatever you put in that message (typically your email address and the text you send). That is separate from the quiz, which does not collect an email address.

4. Entertainment purpose

Archetypes, radar scores, pairing models, and interpretive copy are for entertainment and self-observation only. They are not a psychological, psychiatric, medical, or relationship-therapy assessment. They should not be used as the sole basis for leaving, staying with, or judging a partner.

5. How we use information

  • To show your result, theme, and pairing view in this browser.
  • To let you copy a link that carries your result to another phone.
  • To keep the site available, secure, and reasonably fast.
  • To understand aggregate use (which pages are opened, whether the test is started) through first-party tracking and, when configured, Google measurement tools.
  • To display third-party ads, including Google AdSense, when advertising is enabled on the site.

We do not sell, rent, or trade a quiz profile to other companies as a mailing list. Advertising and measurement partners may still process technical and cookie data as described below.

6. Pairing links and sharing

Pairing is designed so the other person can finish twelve questions on their phone without creating an account. The invite URL is the carrier: it already contains your encoded result. After they finish, they send an updated URL back so both sides can be shown together.

Treat a pairing link like a postcard. Do not post it publicly if you do not want others to see that result. Clearing this site's data on your phone does not retract a link you already sent.

7. Advertising — Google AdSense

Closer is built to show third-party advertisements, including Google AdSense, when advertising is enabled. Ads may not appear in every environment. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other sites.

8. Measurement and analytics

We may use first-party event tracking on this site. When the matching identifiers are configured, we may also load Google Tag Manager, Google tags (including Google Analytics), and advertising pixels. These tools help us see, in aggregate, whether people open Home, start the test, or use pairing — not to build a named psychological file about you.

9. Cookies and local storage

Closer uses HTML5 local storage on your device for theme, last result, and pairing records. There is no server-side account to restore those if you switch browsers, use private mode, or clear site data.

Third parties such as Google AdSense and measurement pixels may set their own cookies. We do not control those cookies.

10. Retention and your control

  • Quiz results and pairing records live in this browser until you clear them. Use your browser's “Clear site data” (or equivalent) for relation.eroocs.com.
  • Taking the test again overwrites closer.result on this device.
  • Server access logs, if kept, are retained only as long as needed for security and operations, then discarded.
  • Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to answer you and to meet legal record-keeping duties.

11. Children's privacy

Closer is an adult intimacy-preference product. It is intended for people 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have received such information, we will delete it. Contact us if you believe this has happened.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold, or to object to certain processing. Because most quiz data never leaves your device, the practical way to delete it is to clear this site's storage in your browser.

13. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy. Please check this page from time to time.
